Cole Swindell Is Ready to Tour With Luke Bryan ‘One Last Time’

Summer of 2019 will bring Luke Bryan and Cole Swindell back together as the two head out on the road for Bryan’s Sunset Repeat Tour. The trek marks Swindell’s second time out on the road with his fellow Georgia native, something that has been a long time coming.

“For me, I’ve always wanted to go back out with him one more time, and be direct support… I wouldn’t be here without [him],” Swindell told Sounds Like Nashville at his recent No.1 party for “Break Up In The End.” “For him to believe in me, at the beginning, when I had one song, or before that even. But now to be direct support, have Jon Langston out there, we’re all family, and we’ve been around each other for years.”

Swindell is glad to have another opportunity to spend time out on the road opening for his dear friend as it’ll likely be their last chance to do so. Because of Bryan’s support, and Swindell’s massive collection of hits, the singer has been planning headlining tours with support of his own.

“This is something that I didn’t know when it would happen. But I always thought, for the last couple years, I was like, ‘One day.’ Even before I headlined, I was like, ‘I gotta go back out with him one more time.’ Just like a big reunion, one last time thing. I think that’s what this is going to be. It’s going to be a fun summer,” he said with a grin.

Swindell first opened for Bryan during his 2014 That’s My Kind of Night Tour. They’d met years earlier in college, with Swindell eventually going out on the road with Bryan to sell merchandise. Eventually, the two started songwriting and Swindell penned several hits for Bryan, including “Roller Coaster.”

Now, the singer is making hits for himself, having written “Chillin’ It,” “Flatliner,” “You Should Be Here,” among others. His most recent smash (which he did not write), “Break Up In The End,” earned a GRAMMY nomination and chart-topping success.

Fans can catch Bryan, Swindell and Langston out on the road for the Sunset Repeat Tour, beginning in Philadelphia, PA on May 31. See a full list of dates here.
