Superstar Jason Aldean is back in the saddle with a new album and tough-talking single, announcing his appropriately-titled ninth studio effort, 9.
Dubbing his new project 9 in honor of the number he wore on the baseball diamond, Aldean’s new release drops on November 22.

“Early on, I always thought if we ever got to make nine albums, I’m going to call it ‘9,’” Aldean says in a statement. “It was my baseball number growing up, and it’s just kind of always been my lucky number. I remember cutting the first album and thinking ‘that’s forever away,’ and now here we are. I don’t know, it’s really special we made it this far – so, it’s more for me than anybody else – but, it means a lot.”
A four-pack of tunes from 9 have also been released, including the hard-charging first single, “We Back” — which Aldean says is a return to the modern-rock influenced aggression of his early hits. “When I came into Country music and made my mark, it was with a banger,” he explains. “But we haven’t put out a lot of that stuff over the last couple years. So we got this song and to me it just says what it says: ‘Thought we were gone, but you’re wrong – now it’s on.’”
Other new tracks include the moody breakup anthem “Blame It On You,” the smooth burning instant classic “I Don’t Drink Anymore” — which features one of Aldean’s best turns-of-phrase in recent memory — and “Keeping It Small Town,” a what you see is what you get tribute to the simple life. Each is available now to fans who preorder the album.
Along with the new music, Aldean’s 2019 Ride All Night Tour wraps October 11 with a Texas-sized stadium show at Arlington’s Globe Life Park, and his Jason Aldean: Ride All Night Vegas residency is set for December 6-8 at Park Theater at Park MGM. All four of the singles on his previous album, Rearview Town, hit No.1 on the country radio charts.
