John Schneider, Bobby Bones Embrace Country Roots on Dancing With the Stars

Week seven of Dancing with the Stars was all about country music as the remaining contestants danced to some of the best songs from the genre. The irony about Monday night’s (Nov. 5) episode was that Nashville couldn’t tune in (thanks, Monday Night Football), but regardless, the show went on as planned.

Each of the performers did two dances: one with their professional partner and another with the other contestants in a team dance.

Radio host Bobby Bones danced what judge Len Goodman dubbed his “best dance yet” when he and his partner performed a Viennese Waltz to “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” The performance was brought to life by singer Chris Janson, who was on hand to perform the tune live.

The judges fawned over Bones’ performance and gave him a score of 24 out of 30.

Equally charming was actor/singer John Schneider who glided across the floor with a funky jazz routine. Bruno Tonioli praised his partner Emma Slater’s choreography, saying the performance was “custom-made to make him shine.”

The two earned a 25 out of 30 for their dance.

The two country men returned to the dance floor with Team Hay Now, which also included Milo Manheim & Witney Carson and Evanna Lynch & Keo Motsepe. The team came together for a rousing performance to Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5″ and earned a near perfect score of 29.

Their competitors, Joe Amabile & Jenna Johnson, DeMarcus Ware & Lindsay Arnold, Juan Pablo Di Pace & Cheryl Burke, and Alexis Ren & Alan Bernsten, also earned top marks (a total of 26 out of 30) for their dance choreographed to Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).”

At the end of the night, however, two teams were eliminated. Footballer DeMarcus Ware and John Schneider were sent packing with the remaining contestants looking ahead to the semi-finals.

Tune in to the Dancing With the Stars semi-finals next Monday!
