Columbia Nashville GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter Maren Morris follows up her first No. 1 song at Country radio and GOLD-certified hit, “I Could Use A Love Song” with “Rich;” one of the most celebrated highlights off Morris’ lauded debut album, HERO. The new radio single arrives on the Country radio airwaves today.
“‘Rich’ feels like the perfect, confidant, laugh-the-B.S.-off-with-your-friends kind of song to go into Spring with. More importantly, ‘Rich’ is the first time we’ve really let fans pick the single, so it was a no brainer to make it my final single from HERO,” says the Texas native.
Exactly one year ago today (February 12, 2017) Morris stepped on the stage of the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards where she accepted the GRAMMY Award for BEST COUNTRY SOLO PERFORMANCE for her first Country radio single “My Church.”
Furthermore, just over a year ago (February 2, 2017) Morris kicked off her first headline, SOLD OUT, HERO Tour 2017 in New York City and in that electric night the response to “Rich” was overwhelming. It was clear then that “Rich” was one of Morris’ ever growing fan base’s favorites. With every lyric being sung back to her, Morris stood in awe of the moment.
“I remember from the first headline tour I did over a year ago, everyone in the crowd was singing the chorus so loud that I was completely stunned,” remembers Morris. “From the Bowery in New York City to Shepherds Bush Empire in London, my fans grabbed ahold of ‘Rich’ and never let go, so I wanted my debut album to go out with a bang! This is for them.”
Within a year’s time Morris has written and performed a No. 1 song at radio, extended her headlining HERO Tour 2017 with dates across the U.S. and abroad, received six nominations for the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards, hit the road for a summer tour with Sam Hunt, tied Eric Church and Chris Stapleton for most nominations with FIVE for the 50th Annual CMA Awards, awarded the Breakthrough Artist Award by the Music Business Association at Music Biz 2017, named Radio Disney’s COUNTRY BEST NEW ARTIST, received her fifth GRAMMY Award-nomination, and announced that she was joining Niall Horan on Niall’s Flicker World Tour 2018 with dates in Australia, New Zealand, US and Canada.
Morris appears tomorrow night in New York City at the All for the Hall New York benefit concert at the Times Square PlayStation Theater.
