Fans of Miranda Lambert will soon have some brand new music to enjoy, as a mysterious new single is set to drop at country radio this month.
As reported in the radio industry trade publication, Country Aircheck, and called out by chart insider Chris Owen, Lambert’s next single will be called “It All Comes Out in the Wash.” It was written by Lambert with Music Row mainstays Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna and Liz Rose, and hits radio stations July 18. While there’s no word on what the track will sound like or any clue about its theme, it’s likely part of her upcoming album — tentatively planned for release this fall.

The news comes as a bit of a surprise to many fans, who likely assumed the “country-punk” rocker “Locomotive” would be Lambert’s next release after she debuted it at Nissan Stadium during the 2019 CMA Music Festival. “Locomotive” was co-written by Lambert with Ashley Monroe and KS Rhodes, and the Texan singer told Entertainment Weekly the new album will be a return to the butt-kicking style of her early career.
“It’s fun,” she says. “I’m finishing the record right now and it’s just high energy — it’s fun lyrics, it’s clever, it’s a lot of girl anthems.”
“It All Comes Out in the Wash” will officially impact radio stations on July 29.
