The new album from Jake Owen is sure to be a mainstay of cookouts, parties, and summertime fun for 2019. This feel good collection is the perfect kickoff for the summer with upbeat songs and catchy hooks galore. You won’t find tear jerking songs of heartache and misery, this album is uplifting and fun from start to finish .From the opening tracks “Down to the Honkytonk” and “Ain’t Here to Talk” Jake gets you into the club and ready to party. The catchy (albeit a bit cliché) “I Was Jack (You Were Diane)”, “Grass is Greener (featuring Kid Rock)”, and “Drink All Day” exude the upbeat fun Jake is trying to showcase. There are a couple of slightly more serious although still upbeat memories like “Homemade”, and “River of Time”. Start to finish it’s a great collection to crank up at the pool or cruising down the highway.

Maggie Baugh – “Fire Me Up”
One of my favorites Maggie Baugh continues to impress. Her latest single is called “Fire Me Up” and it continues her growth and progress as a singer and songwriter. I’ve had the pleasure of watching her grow up in front of me and believe me; Maggie is maturing into one of the brightest young female artists in Nashville. She now spends the bulk of her time in Nashville with the occasional trip back home to South Florida and tours all over the country. Already added to Apple Music’s Country Hot Tracks Playlist as well as my New Country 2019 Playlist, this song is en fuego. It’s a song of honest fire and emotion from a young lady who is only beginning to hit her stride.

Ciara Rae – Country Enough
Our South Florida born and Belmont University Grad, Ciara Rae, has release a 3 song ep called “Country Enough.” It’s a stylish and sassy collection of edgy country recently added to the New Music Nashville playlist on Spotify. The 3 tracks are no nonsense, all out celebration of womanhood. The lead song “Heartbreak Mistake” is produced and co-written by Nolan Neal, and there’s also the upbeat “In Love, Lonely, or Just Drunk “and my personal favorite “Meet My Ex” that are produced by Austin Bianco. All three are straight ahead with clever lyrics and fresh arrangements. You’ll understand the crossing out of the “Not” on the artwork when you hear the modern edge of country in all 3 songs. She’s a fierce, independent, and strong woman and this collection is a testament to that. A bit of Shania Twain with a Joan Jett edge, Ciara delivers gold again.
