Thomas Rhett tributes some truly incredible women in his latest video. It’s a futuristic concept piece for the grooving new single, “Look What God Gave Her” – and it features a heartwarming twist.
Directed by TK McKamy, the colorful clip finds Rhett playing a variety of instruments – from electric guitar to drums – and stands out for its visually-stunning dreamscape vibe. The bright, eye-catching look fits nicely with the song itself, which features an uptempo, feel-good pulse and tons of R&B influence. But this video is meant to highlight song’s female-celebrating message, so it includes TR’s wife, Lauren, local community leaders and even the couple’s cutie-pie daughters – Ada James (19 months) and Willa Gray (3 years).
“When we started talking about the music video, it was natural to include Lauren, but I also wanted to include other inspirational women who are doing some amazing things,” Rhett explains. “Rather than hire actors for the video we connected with the founder of Love One and her family, the women of Thistle Farms and an incredible artist who also did our art for the single cover to come be featured. Being able to spotlight them and celebrate these strong women along with my wife and daughters was such a special experience.”
Speaking with People on the ACM Awards red carpet Sunday evening TR let everyone in on a little secret about the video. Apparently no one was actually planning to include his daughters in the final product, but they had different plans.

“They really weren’t supposed to be in the video,” he said with the beaming grin of a proud father. “They were just standing there in the back with their little ballerina skirts on, and during the middle of a shot they just ran out there, and we just kept the shot.”
“Look What God Gave Her” is currently inside the Top 15 at country radio, and TR performed the danceable number during Sunday’s 54th ACM Awards, where he also won the trophy for Male Artist of the Year. His Very Hot Summer Tour will kick off May 17 in Spokane, Washington, and features support from his hit songwriter father, Rhett Akins, plus Dustin Lynch and Russell Dickerson.
