Tennessee born and Georgia raised, country newcomer Cody Lee is no stranger to the southern lifestyle and country music. A relative late bloomer as an artist, he picked up a guitar at charted a course on his other passion country music. Fast forward a couple of years and here we sit with a notebook of songs, the support of his friends and family he has decided to follow his Nashville dream. “I just had to jump; I had to believe in myself.” Lee says, “After I started to believe I could do this, all the stars just started to align”.
Cody is working on carving his own sound and style, and drawing on a wide range of influences from Randy Travis to Kenny Chesney. If you’re lucky you just might catch his impromptu version of Donna Summer’s classic “Last Dance” but that is a story for another time. Cody Lee is putting together a fresh new country sound with a nod to tradition and his debut single reflects that.
“Bad Things”,, this song written by Nashville singer/songwriter Tommy Dalton, and produced by Todd Trombetta, is a perfect introduction to what I believe will be a name worth paying attention to. I have heard the other songs set for his as yet unnamed EP, and country fans be ready! Check out the acoustic version of Bad Things and get ready to be amazed!
