Willie Nelson Reveals Star-Studded Farm Aid 2019 Lineup

Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds are calling upon their fans and friends in the music industry to help family farmers at this year’s Farm Aid music and food festival.

Scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin, the performers include Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Margo Price, Jamey Johnson, Tanya Tucker, Brothers Osborne, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Yola, and Particle Kid, with additional acts to be named later this summer.

Farm Aid’s goal is to help farmers suffering in the economic climate that mimics the one in 1985 when the concert first began.  According to a press release, median farm income will be -$1,449 this year, while net farm income will be 8% higher than previous years. Suicide from those working in agricultural industries is also increasing.

“With devastating weather, low prices and harmful farm and
trade policies, America’s family farmers are facing immense challenges to hold
on to their farms. It’s not right … family farmers are essential for all of
us,” Farm Aid President and Founder Willie Nelson said in the release. “By
bringing our festival to the heart of the struggle, we will stand side by side
with farmers. At Farm Aid 2019, we’ll highlight solutions and show our support
for family farmers’ contributions to our health, economy and environment.”

During Farm Aid 2019, food stands will showcase family
farm-sourced ingredients. The stands will also feature HOMEGROWN Concessions, which
uses compostable serviceware in an attempt of creating zero waste.

Since the inception of Farm Aid, Nelson, Young, Mellencamp
and Matthews have helped raise more than $57 million to help support programs
that help farmers flourish.

Tickets for Farm Aid 2019 go on sale at livenation.com beginning Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. CDT.
